Hi. I'm Melissa Lawrence and as a freelance crafter, I'm at my most content when I'm creating beautiful things that are perfect for giving and receiving. I love to share my creations in both the virtual and the real world.
I've been crafting in one form or another for as long as I can remember, starting with the famous 'Blue Peter makes' in the 1960s and 1970s. Although my early interest was in knitting and crochet, I quickly moved on to papercrafting, particularly quilling (paper filigree) which I enjoyed doing for many years.
A few years ago, while channel-hopping with the remote control, I came across Create and Craft TV and it was there that I discovered digital crafting and in particular digital scrapbooking. This opened up a whole new world to me as I'd always felt hampered by the fact that I can't draw. Suddenly I had all this amazing artwork at my fingertips. As a result, I now feel able to call myself a designer as well as a crafter because much of my work incorporates my digital designs, many of which are taken from my own photographs, artwork and craftwork.
What started out as a childhood hobby seems to have become my new career and I'm delighted to welcome you to my website. I hope you enjoy your visit.
